2024 Year in Review: Product-Led Storytelling

At Walnut, we’ve always been about rewriting the rules for how B2B companies showcase their products. 

This year, we delivered powerful features and enhancements that elevated the way teams approach product demos, and we’re just getting started.

2024 was all about empowering teams to drive better buyer experiences by being product-led across the entire GTM motion. We sought to solve complex customer challenges regarding creating, maintaining, and delivering consistent product stories – beyond demos

From cutting-edge integrations to dynamic tools that make storytelling effortless, our product updates were built to tackle the evolving challenges of complex GTM motions head-on.

So, let’s take a look back at the features and updates that were launched this past year.

Here are our favorite new features from 2024

We launched over 65 features to help product-led storytellers. While we can’t go through every single one, we did round up our top 10:

  1. Share anything in Playlists

Playlists offer a one-stop-shop for sharing any product content like demos, videos, and documents. Share micro-demos before and after calls to pique buyers’ interest as well as share packages using targeted messaging. 

Delivering informational assets and interactive demos in one place is critical because as any seasoned GTM pro will tell you, your GTM motion is about more than just demos. You can also let users explore items on their own.

Playlists not only enhance the buying experience and boost confidence in your solution, but also reduce the need for face-to-face meetings with your reps before prospects are armed with the right information.

On top of this, you’ll also be able to tailor the content and branding by deal to meet the prospect’s needs.

  1. Get the full picture with Deals 

With Deals, all of your demo information and communications with each prospect are in one place! Calls, emails, demo engagement, form submissions, stakeholders – you name it. You’ll have visibility of what happened and when through our Salesforce integration.

This dashboard and timeline are game changers when it comes to seeing the full picture of deal momentum, so you can take action and guide your teams on how to move forward. 

  1. Go offline anytime, anywhere 

You no longer need to be online to access and present your Walnut demos thanks to Offline Demos.

Now, you can deliver a flawless experience by making your demos accessible offline. 

Take conferences, for example. Now, you won’t need to worry about whether you’ll be able to present your demos even if the connectivity is unstable. This feature lets sellers access all of their interactive demos regardless of internet connectivity. 

All without the fear of slow loading times or not having access to your demos when you need them the most.

  1. Never miss a lead with demo session CRM automatching

Walnut’s goal is to seamlessly integrate into your workflow and CRM. Demo engagement should play an integral role in intent signals as part of your lead qualification. In this case, Walnut does the work for you by automatically matching contacts and enriching deals with demo data.

With CRM automatching via Salesforce and HubSpot, you can identify and nurture leads more efficiently, gain deeper insights into buyer intent and engagement, and improve sales and marketing alignment.

  1. Experience an industry-leading Salesforce integration 

We know that your sales teams live in Salesforce. That’s why there’s no need to look further to access great demos.

Key components of the Salesforce integration include:

  • Product-led deal signals embedded in Salesforce
  • Share demo and Playlist links directly from Salesforce and auto associate it with the object that the link was created from
  • Build personalized demos without ever leaving Salesforce
  1. See who’s viewing your demos via Walnut Uncover

Say goodbye to anonymous demo views!

With Uncover, you can associate an anonymous demo session with a company name and auto-match it to a CRM account.

Walnut Uncover helps you and your team gain valuable insights about the companies viewing your product demos by integrating with leading data providers like ZoomInfo, Clearbit, 6Sense, and Demandbase and providing this data in the CRM at the account level.

  1. A new editing experience to streamline your workflow

We introduced our new Editor to offer a more seamless and intuitive experience. This included a new tool sidebar and new editing toolbar complete with formatting options.

The new toolbar provides a consistent and accessible location for all available actions, whether editing an element, linking an element, or writing an annotation text, streamlining your editing process from start to finish.

  1. Guide your demo viewers

For guided demos, our goal was to make the guides more engaging and relevant for each audience. That’s why we launched guide translations, available in hundreds of languages, and text-to-speech capabilities to streamline communication.

  1. Edit with ease

We want to make it easier than ever to edit your product screens. This includes capturing the full interactivity, replacing images with gifs or videos, blurring content and most recently – Global Edits!

With Global Edits, you can apply bulk edits to any element on existing and new screens. Walnut will automatically detect and suggest repeated edits to save you precious time and effort.

  1. AI transformation 

For us, AI is far more than a buzzword—it’s a transformation.

This year, we’ve unveiled powerful features that redefine your workflow, including Insights AI, which can draw demo insights and answer any demo-related questions.

Our new Edits AI feature (coming soon!) allows you to mass edit elements, seamlessly replacing content with AI-generated alternatives.

What’s coming in 2025?

While we’re proud of everything we accomplished over the last year, we’ve only just scratched the surface. 

2025 will bring new updates and improvements as we continue to change the way SaaS is bought and sold.
